# Partner commission management, calculated on close.

Set commission plans once and Suger PRM works out what each partner earns the moment a deal closes. Referral fees, resale margins, co-sell splits, SPIFFs, and per-deal overrides live in one place — with the payout lifecycle tracked right beside them.

## What is partner commission management?

Partner commission management is the practice of defining what partners earn, calculating it accurately when deals close, and tracking every payout through to completion. It is the part of a partner program that decides whether partners trust your numbers.

Most programs run it on a spreadsheet that disagrees with the CRM by the second quarter. Suger PRM keeps plans, overrides, incentive programs, and payout status on the same records your deals already live on.

Commission plans

## One plan model for every partner motion

A commission plan defines how a partner is paid on the deals they bring. Suger PRM covers the three shapes that matter — referral fees, resale margins, and co-sell splits — so a referral partner, a reseller, and a GSI can all be paid correctly without three separate systems.

- Template-level plans applied across a partner type or tier
- Referral fee, resale margin, and co-sell split models
- Plans stay attached to the deal that triggered them

Plan Applies to Rate

Referral fee ISV partners 10%

Resale margin Resellers 15%

Co-sell split GSIs 50 / 50

Per-deal override Enabled

### Referral fees

Pay a partner a percentage for sourcing a deal your team closes. The most common plan for ISV partners and advisors who introduce business but do not transact.

### Margins

Set the margin a reseller keeps on a deal they transact themselves, so resale economics are agreed in the plan rather than negotiated deal by deal.

### Co-sell splits

Split the payout when you and the partner both work the deal, so shared effort produces a shared number instead of an argument at quarter end.

## Handle the exceptions without rewriting the plan

Every program has deals that do not fit the standard rate and quarters that need a push. Overrides and incentive programs cover both, so the underlying plan stays stable.

### Per-deal overrides

Change the commission on a single deal when the situation calls for it — a strategic account, an unusual structure, a partner who did more than the plan assumed. The override applies to that deal only and the template keeps governing everything else.

- Set at the deal, not the template
- Standard plan stays intact for every other deal
- Override travels with the payout record

### SPIFF and SPF programs

A SPIFF is a short-term incentive that pays partners extra for a specific push — a product launch, a new region, a quarter-end campaign. Suger PRM runs SPIFF and SPF programs alongside standing plans instead of bolting them on in a separate tracker.

- Run incentives beside your standing commission plans
- Time-boxed pushes without touching base economics
- Incentive earnings land on the same payout record

Payouts

## From closed deal to tracked payout

Commissions calculate automatically the moment a deal closes, and the resulting payout is tracked through its full lifecycle in one place. Alliances stops guessing what a partner is owed, and finance stops rebuilding the calculation from scratch.

Partner tiers

## Pay your best partners like your best partners

A partner tier is a level you define based on a partner's engagement and success, so the partners producing the most sit on better economics than the ones who signed up and went quiet. Tiers also feed the rest of the program — deal registration approvals can route by the tier a partner sits in.

- Tier levels based on partner engagement and success
- Attach commission plans to a tier rather than one partner at a time
- Use tiers to route deal registration approvals

## Partner commission questions

What is partner commission management?

Partner commission management is the practice of defining what partners earn, calculating it accurately when deals close, and tracking each payout to completion. It covers referral fees, resale margins, co-sell splits, incentive programs, and the reporting behind them.

How are partner commissions calculated in Suger?

Automatically, on deal close. Suger PRM applies the commission plan that covers the deal, layers on any per-deal override or active SPIFF, and attaches the resulting amount to the deal so nobody recalculates it by hand.

Can we override the commission on a single deal?

Yes. Plans are set at the template level and any individual deal can be overridden, so a strategic or unusual deal does not force you to rewrite the plan that governs everything else.

What is a SPIFF, and can we run one?

A SPIFF is a short-term incentive that pays partners extra for a specific push, such as a product launch or a quarter-end campaign. Suger PRM supports SPIFF and SPF programs alongside your standing commission plans.

What are partner tiers used for?

Partner tiers are levels you define based on partner engagement and success. They let you reward the partners producing the most, and they can drive downstream behaviour such as deal registration approval routing.

Do commissions work for partners outside cloud marketplaces?

Yes. Suger PRM pays VARs, GSIs, resellers, and ISV partners whose deals never touch a marketplace, in the same workspace teams use to co-sell across three hyperscaler programs.
